“Tree Lines” is a 42″ x 60″ is a mixed media work with acrylic paint and handmade paper. It is framed in a simple stained lattice. Taking the idea from the phrase, “a line of trees”, this painting uses the simplest element of art, the line, to represent the individual tree trucks. The dripping method used is layered atop a warm golden and crimson sunset landscape. The ghost images of the larger leaves were initially collaged to the original canvas as leaf-shaped pieces of handmade paper. They serve as the basis for the entire theme of the work.
